Sky let out a deep sigh, his blue quills falling over his face as he did so. “Why is this show still on the air?”

Amy opened her mouth to answer, but was cut off rather rudely by another. “That’s because people love senseless violence.”

The pink hedgehog jumped, and look around at who had said those words, but could find no one. She looked to Sky’s head and found a yellow blob on it. “Ew! What is that, Sonic? A hideous growth? Get it off!”

Sky giggled. “He’s not a hideous growth! He’s Chippy! My Pichu.”

Amy tilted her head, and the creature leaped off the sapphire head gracefully, a crimson cape blowing through the air. The little creature’s eyes pierced into Amy’s, his scar giving him a dangerous look, not to mention the sword at his side. “And I’m not hideous…” He growled. “You jerk!”

Giggling again, Sky sat back against the couch. “Why don’t we ever get our own chapter?”

“Because of that damn transition line…” Chippy sighed. “Oh great, here it comes again.”

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sonic began to stir in his deep sleep, hearing two female voices floating around his head. “Oh yeah, I know what you mean, transition lines seriously suck…”

With a deep groan, he slowly sat up on the bed, his ruby quills flowing every which way from his bed head. His head was pounding, while the world spun for a few moments before the two girls came into view. “Good morning, sunshine! Your hair is looking pretty spiffy!”

Sonic gave no reply, except for a large and rather obnoxious yawn that left the whole world to see into his mouth. “It’s time to sing with us like you promised!” Emmy smiled brightly.

“Yeah, you wouldn’t want to let down a couple of nice girls now would you?” Wendy smirked, loving the idea of torturing the hedgehog with Barbie Girl.

“…Two sugars…” Sonic confusedly let out.

Both girls tilted their head. “What?”

“Two sugars!” Sonic said again, still not knowing what he himself was saying.

Emmy took a few steps forward and examined the red hedgehog. She looked into his brown eyes and saw that they were looking into nothing. “I think he still needs to be woken up…” She took a deep breath and reached into her pockets. “Cookie… Shuriken… Blast!” She screamed, letting the baked weapons fly through the air, slamming Sonic in the forehead, while one landed in his mouth.

The hedgehog soon came back into reality, rubbing his forehead as he saw a bruise start to form. He tried to say something, but had to swallow the cookie before he could say it, leaving Wendy and Emmy to smile over a job well done. “What the hell was that for?” He finally screamed, a few crumbs spilling out.

“You wouldn’t wake up.” Wendy crossed her arms. “Your head was harder to get through than Metal Sonic’s himself!”

Sonic held back his anger, since it was their last morning together. “Now let’s get you into costume…” Screw holding back anger, he wasn’t wearing that stuff again!

Ready to explode, the hedgehog opened his mouth, but was interrupted as the door was flung down on the floor. The three turned their heads at the sudden impact to see the pink wolf-bird girl, looking nervous. “Whoops…”

Her hand was curled into a fist where she had been knocking on the door. “Celestial again?” Sonic sighed.

The girl soon composed herself back together, giving him a stern frown. “Yes, Celestial again… Is there a problem with that?”

Truly, Sonic didn’t mind her, but he felt like being a jerk this morning. “Nah, not really, I just like Silhouette better.” He put his hands behind his head with a smirk.

Celestial’s face began to portray a slight anger, as she wasn’t very good at keeping it in. She grabbed Sonic by the quill and began pulling him out the room harshly. “Ow ow! That hurts!” Sonic whined, trying to get her to let go.

“We’re going to meet your new team!” she growled, still pulling.

“But we didn’t get to make him sing yet…” Emmy and Wendy sighed. “Oh well, we’ll see you at lunch, Sky! Get ready to sing for us, okay?”

Sonic was soon being pulled down the hallways, shouting, “Okay, I’ll miss you and all, but I’m not singing!”

It was a few minutes later that Celestial finally let Sonic free. He wiped the tear from his eye, and kissed his poor bruised quill. “Man, did you have to pull so hard? My quills are sensitive…”

Obviously still not in the mood, she kept walking ahead down the empty hallways, not many Fannies could be seen out here. It must have been early.

Eventually, they finally made it up two floors, there was a carpet, slightly dirty, and some painted walls. It wasn’t fancy, but it was definitely more livable then the last floor. There were no more strange smells, no more cracks in the walls, and no more leaky pipes. The doors actually had names on them now, painted in whatever way the team liked, even with their symbol placed on it.

Celestial stopped at a plain brown door. “This is your new team’s meeting room. They should all be waiting for you on the inside.”

Sonic looked at the door lazily. The knob was polished, and the paint was perfect, but there was no symbol on it. “Why doesn’t it have any-?”

“The leader is too lazy to get to it. I’m done with you now, I need sleep. Bye.” With that, the magenta female walked off, leaving Sonic all alone in front of his new team door.

Suddenly, Sonic’s mind started to wander. What if they were jerks? He skipped a few levels; he’ll be the weakest one in the group! They’d beat him to a pulp! But… What if they were just a bunch of idiots? Well… Standing around wasn’t going to get anything done. He raised a gloved hand and hit the door with his knuckles gently.

No answer.

“Um, sir…” A timid voice on the other side said after a long period of time.

“Huh? What? Oh right, right. Come in pizza boy!” a male announced.

Sonic sighed.

He opened the door and entered the room, a nice red carpet below his feet. A desk sat at the edge of the small door, with a male’s feet up on it. Across the desk sat three plain chairs, two already taken, while one was open for Sonic apparently. “I’m the new team member…”

The feet flew off the desk, and a head poked out from behind the wall. A light blue hedgehog with a yellow stripe down his head, wearing the usual sapphire armor sat there. “Go-Golbez?” Sonic took a step back. “No no! I don’t want you as a leader!”

The hedgehog smiled. “Hey! I didn’t know you’d be our pizza boy!”

A girl in the chair sighed. “Um… Captain, he’s our new teammate.”

“Even better! Now…” Golbez smiled again. “As your first mission, I demand that you be our pizza boy, Sky!”

Sonic let out an angry sigh, walking farther into the room. Two new Fannies… Hopefully they’d at least be as nice as Wendy and Emmy were. Walking past the two females, he tried to sit in an open seat, but soon felt a kick against his rear-end. “Hey hey, I got dibs on this chair, pizza boy!” A purple fox girl growled, placing both of her feet on the wooden chair comfortably.

“My name is Sonic!” The red hedgehog growled. “I mean… Pizza boy!” He shook his head again, feeling heat rise to his face. “I mean Sky damn it! Sky! That is my name, Sky!”

Still keeping her feet lazily on the open chair, the black and violet girl tilted her head. “Oh, you must be our new teammate… Hi there, PB, my name is Kitsi.” She held out a hand. Sonic shook it with a growling sigh.

“What does ‘PB’ mean?” The light blue cat on the side asked.

“Pizza Boy. That’s his name after all.” Kitsi rested back against the chair lazily, her four tails slightly twitching as she felt comfort in her position. Black seemed to be one of this girl’s favorite color, as the dark stuff covered her lips, some of her ears, and even the edges of her tails. Not to mention her clothes were black as well.

Golbez laughed. “PB! I like that, Kitsi. You get a promotion!”

“I try my best, Captain,” she said while yawning.

Sonic felt like tackling the girl to the ground and punching the living day lights out of her. But… That would be rude. Not to mention she could probably kick his butt while he was up in the high-ranks. “Yeah, so can I sit down now?” He glared into her ebony eyes.

“Nah, sorry, PB, but my feet are pretty stuck here.”

The sky-blue cat stood up randomly, looking nervous. “Um, Sky, or PB, or Sonic… You can take my seat if you’d like…”

Sonic looked surprised. The cat with orange hair seemed to be nice actually. Although, what was with those camouflage military pants? Who knows. “Thank you, miss…”

“Mirage. My name is Mirage.” She smiled as the crimson hedgehog took a seat.

Golbez took his feet back off the desk and stood up, his azure armor shining with a brilliant beauty to it. “Ah, so Sky, you’re the one who helped beat the Mary-Sues, and got promoted a few ranks aren’t you?”

Sonic nodded; happy he didn’t call him Pizza Boy.

“Well that’s nice, but you’re just gonna bring our team down, PB.” Golbez sat back down in his chair, as if standing took all of his energy. “You either get good or you can just sit out and watch.”

Kitsi smirked. “Yeah, you’re gonna have to try and get as good as me, or at least Mirage.”

Sonic gritted his teeth. Although it was true he’d be the weakest member of the team, he didn’t ever like to be called weak. “What the hell is this team called anyways?” he said, trying to cool down his nerves.

“Team Mythe.” Golbez said casually, looking up at the plain ceiling. “I’m the captain of it as you can already tell. We here at Team Mythe are probably one of the…” he coughed. “…worst teams out on this floor.”

Great, once again he was with weaklings.

Mirage put a hand up, answering exactly what Sonic was thinking. “Well, Captain, I think we would be a lot better if we just had some team work! We have lots of power, just… no team work.”

“Yeah, I’ll get right on that, Mirage.” Captain Golbez said sarcastically. “Dude, don’t you think I have better things to do then add ‘team work’ to our group?” He used his hands as air quotes as he said team work.

“No, not really…” Mirage timidly slunk back against the wall. “Can we at le-.”

“CRIKEY!” A booming voice exploded into the room as the door fell off its hinges. “Would ya look at this, viewahs? We got ourselves another fine specimen!”

Golbez’s face turned pale. “Oh, great, not again…”

Steve Durwin led his camera crew sneakily up to the light blue hedgehog, shushing them even though they hadn’t made a sound. “Crikey, this has ta be the best one yet… see the way his eyes show like there is nothing in his head? It’s completely true!” He suddenly jumped out and tackled Golbez to the ground wrestling him down like he would a crocodile. “Look out for his teeth! They’re real woppahs!”
“I’ll show you some teeth you Aussie reject!” Golbez opened his mouth wide, and sunk his pearly whites deep into the poor man’s skin.

Steve cried out in pain, jumping back with a few tears in his eyes. “Crikey, mate…” he started, lower lip trembling. “You don’t have to be sucha jerk!” he whined, tears exploding out from his eyes now.

Sonic already felt a vein popping out of his head with irritation. “Will you all…” he started calmly. “Get the hell out of here!” He screamed.

Steve cringed and turned silent. With a nod, he ‘stealthily’ made his way out of the room. All that remained was a lone cameraman.

Kitsi began to scowl at the man, clenching a fist. “You heard the freak, get lost!” In the next moment she stood up and tossed her chair at the man. With a yelp, he dashed out after Steve, whining about how he wasn’t getting paid enough.

“Nice job, Pizza Boy,” Golbez sighed, brushing the dust off his armor. “But really, you need to learn to deliver the pizza for once. We’re all hungry!”

The light blue hedgehog’s short attention span was murder on poor Sonic.

“For the last time, I’m not the pizza boy!” he shouted. The captain nodded, but looked up at the ceiling’s corner. “Are you listening?”

Suddenly, Captain Golbez shot up from his position. “Oh crud! I just remembered!”

Without another second, an icy-blue wolf walked into the plain room. “Team Mythe…” Silhouette started, raising a finger while speaking. “You’re once again late for an important assembly.”

Captain Golbez nodded. “Right, I was just go-.”

“No excuses. Cuervo himself is getting tired of you,” Sil interrupted. “Get going.”

Not wanting to anger Cuervo, Golbez jumped over to the door. “Yes ma’am.” He gave a salute to her.

Sil nodded, obviously pleased, and made her way down the hallway.

The second her back was turned, Golbez stuck his tongue out of his mouth right in the direction of Silhouette. Mirage stood next to the captain, worry across her face. “Really, Captain, I don’t think you should do that.”

“I’ll do what I want,” he growled in a child-like way.

Kitsi pushed her way through the group, uncaring towards anyone that should stand in her way. “Let’s hurry up and see what’s going on!”

Team Mythe nodded and made their way up the underground buildings floors.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once the group had finally reached the outside of the underground lair, they each took in a deep breathe of the cool morning air. The sky was still bright under the sun’s new light, and a breeze whispered silently into their fur and through their ears.

Thousands of Fan Characters were outside, all huddled around an empty podium where no one stood. Each of the animals in the entire group soon turned to idle chatter, filling the area with constant blathering.

Golbez scratched his head dumbly. “Cuervo usually doesn’t make many assemblies… it must be something important.”

Mirage smiled, looking at her captain. “H-he told us yesterday that this was going to be important.”

“Right.”

Sonic sighed again, wondering if he’d ever make it out of this chaos. Kitsi stood next to the crimson hedgehog, tails twitching as she sniffed the air with her ebony nose. Almost at once, every single Fan Character grew silent.

Two females, Celestial and Silhouette, stood on opposite sides of the podium as their leader made his way to the center. Cuervo’s red eyes seemed to glare at each of the animals with disapproval, but then again… he always looked that way. His left ear twitched as he cleared his throat to speak.

“Fan Characters,” he started calmly. “You must all be wondering why I’ve called you all here.” Sonic crossed his arms impatiently. “I have found a new object for you all to train with.”

Tilting his head, the red hedgehog looked up with intrigue at the board Cuervo held into the air. It looked like a futuristic snow-board, painted a shiny gray that matched the commander’s fur. Strangely, however, on the bottom of the board were a few holes to let some type of air escape. “This is called an Extreme Gear I believe,” Cuervo continued after the group could drink in the spectacle. “It’s a hover board.”

Sonic felt his heartbeat increase with excitement.

“Each one of you will be assigned your own specific board,” the commander placed the board down. “Each one of you will train with it to become stronger and faster.”

Without warning, someone spoke from the crowd of Fannies. “How did you pay for all of them? They look expensive!”

Celestial gave a moody glare to the male, her eyes showing a lack of sleep. “We took it out of each and every one of your paychecks.”

Immediately, the crowd began to ripple with unhappiness, complaining about the circumstances. Someone with enough courage even managed to shout, “We get paychecks?”

Silhouette sighed. “Not you anymore.”

Cuervo pounded a fist into the wooden podium. “Silence!” he roared, shutting everyone up after. “You’ll all do as I say, and you will train with these boards! A contest will be held afterwards. It will be a race.”

Sonic the Hedgehog’s body was tingling.

“A race around the entire planet. It will not be easy, and it will not be short,” Cuervo kept his eyes closed, letting the stress escape from him. “The race will take days to finish at the minimum, and there are no rules. Fight your way to the flag. That is all.” He left the podium, followed by Celestial and Silhouette.

A race around the entire planet… now, this was something he could do!

Sonic was soon snapped out of his fantasies when he noticed a few familiar faces. A purple ferret, a brown cat, and two hooded creatures he knew all too well. Kadel the hedgehog and Slaybel the fox of Team Nightmare. The two were hassling Team Cherry Coolers as always. Feeling his blood boil, Sonic made his way towards them.

“So, this is the new guy of your pathetic team, huh?” Kadel’s razor-like teeth formed into a smirk. “What’s his name? Grimm?”

A black furred animal stood in front of Kadel, obviously keeping his cool. His quills were lined with green at the ends, and he wore dark baggy clothing. It was hard to tell what animal he was, as his skin seemed to be slightly pale.

“Grimm,” the boy replied. “I’m the new member.”

Slaybel burst out laughing, pointing a finger at the boy who gave no response back. “Grimm? That’s a nice name. Oh wait, aren’t you supposed to be a zombie or something? That’s classic.”

Wendy and Emmy were on opposite sides of Grimm, glaring at Team Nightmare. “Who do you think you are, talking like that to him?” Emmy growled.

Grimm shook his head calmly. “It’s fine,” he said, taking hold of the edge of his axe strapped to his belt.

Kadel continued to laugh, looking at the zombie-boy with his piercing red eyes. “Aw, what are you gonna do?” he shrugged with a smirk. “Are you gonna hit me with your axe?”

Grimm gritted his teeth, tightening his grip around his weapon.

Sonic had the same irritated expression across his face as he met up with the Team Nightmare members. “Hey, look, it’s the Ex-Cherry Scum,” Kadel turned his attention away from the zombie boy.

Grimm’s emerald eyes shimmered with excitement, and as soon as the black hedgehog turned away, Grimm slashed down on Kadel’s face with a flash.

Kadel froze in place, stunned by the movement. A loose hair had been cut off from his head, and slowly fell down to the ground. “Next time, it’ll be your face I cut off,” Grimm warned.

Grimacing, Kadel backed away. “Whatever, you got lucky. We’re not done with you yet, Cherry-Scum. We’ll see you at the races…” he whispered, disappearing into the crowd with Slaybel.

Sonic smiled towards the new member, proud that it was someone who could stand up against those jerks. “Hey there!” Sonic held out his hand to Grimm. “My name is Sky; I’m an ex-member of Team Cherry Coolers.”

Grimm shook the hand calmly. “It’s nice to meet you,” he smiled. “Emmy and Wendy have already told me about you. My name’s Grimm.”

The two girls gave a wave to Sonic. He would have said more, but Captain Golbez called out to him from behind. “Hey! Pizza Boy! It’s time to get back to the meeting room!”

Sonic gave them a quick farewell and rushed off back to his team. Kitsi had a glare set out for him when he returned. “Took you long enough.”

With yet another sigh, the red hedgehog shook his head.
A new item to train with… a new item to race with. Maybe he was going to have fun after all… or maybe it was just another way to get himself killed!

Sonic let his thoughts wander off as he followed Team Mythe back to their meeting room.

You are an amazing writer. The story is great, i never really consitered how official charaters would treat fan charaters, but this is a shocking reality. I love it. I hope you make more chapters! ^^
