Love is Love...

A blue hedgehog leaped out from a laser blast’s harmful attack. “Heh, you have to do better than that, Egghead!” The hero called Sonic taunted.

“Sonic, this isn’t the time to be aggravating him!” A fourteen year old kitsune shouted over the turning gears and screeching metal. His name was Miles, but his friends called him Tails. There was a very special reason he was nicknamed this, and that was because the kitsune had two tails instead of one.

Sonic gave a smirk to the fox, his best friend. “Don’t worry, buddy, Eggman can never catch me.” Rarely ever did Sonic go on an adventure without the two tailed fox. Tails was always there for him after all. Seeing Tails’ worried face only made Sonic smile, knowing that the fox cared for him so much.

Tails, slightly bruised from the battle, stood on opposite sides of the platform that was hovering over a dark pit that would surely kill anyone who fell in. “This time is different, Sonic!” A genius roared into his speakers. “All of my failed attempts have just made me stronger!”

The genius, Eggman, or Dr. Robotnik, was always trying his best to take over the world. Unfortunately for him, Sonic and Tails were always there to beat him down. This time, the hero and his partner had made it inside his factory, where Robotnik had had created his best invention yet! It was similar to one of his favorite creations, the Egg Viper, but this time it was faster, bigger, and had more spikes protruding from its body to give it more of a deadly flair.

“Whoa, Tails, watch out!” Sonic shouted, tackling the fox to the floor before a burning red laser could sear through his bones. The blue hedgehog felt Tails shiver under his embrace. “What are you doing? Focus, Tails!”

Although he hadn’t meant it, Sonic had put on a look of aggravation. Tails looked back into his emerald eyes, and turned away, ashamed. “I’m so sorry, Sonic… There’s just something that’s been on my mind.”  Tails always wanted to help the blue hedgehog. He often gave gifts to Sonic, just because he liked making the hero happy. Seeing Sonic so irritated with him, Tails felt like he was making the hedgehog upset.

Sonic the Hedgehog stood up and shook it off. “It’s okay Tails, just whatever is on your mind will have to wait.” With a grunt, he ran to the other side, escaping a barrage of laser shots. Tails sighed unhappily. He didn’t want to wait anymore… It was tearing him apart from the inside to not speak his mind.

The snake like robot, polished to perfection, shined like a crimson sun, even though little light made it inside. Robotnik carefully watched Sonic’s moves until… “Aha!” He triumphed, and shot one of his lasers centimeters away from Sonic’s foot, causing the hedgehog to lose his balance and fall to the cold metal. “I knew it!” The Egg Viper approached, electricity running through the air around the robot as it charged for its most powerful attack. “This is the end, Sonic!”

Sonic could do nothing but let out a horrified gasp, there was no time to run now, and there was nothing he could do. The Egg Viper opened up its chest armor to reveal a large cannon with a ball of pure electricity inside it. “It’s finally over!” Robotnik cackled hitting the fire button.

“Sonic!!!” Tails screamed, throwing his body in front of Sonic’s.

“What?” The genius pounded a fist into the control panel in anger. The shot was fired, and hit the kitsune directly into his spine.

Sonic could only watch in terror as Tails let out a blood-curdling scream of pain, his entire body quaking as the electricity ran through his veins and fur. It felt like an eternity filled with misery, and in the edge of Sonic’s eyes tears began to form.

Finally, the electrical attack had softened, and Tails fell to the ground, unable to move a muscle. “Blasted fox!” Robotnik roared, his robot having to recharge after such an attack.

Sonic only sat back in shock, his body trembling with fear. “Tails!” He cried, tears nearly ready to escape his eyes. “Wh-why? Why did you do that, Tails?”

The kitsune’s body twitched slightly, and Tails’ arm slowly reached out to the sapphire hero. “Because…” He said, lower than a whisper. He had to tell Sonic now. He had to tell it, this may be his only chance. “I love you.”

Sonic froze, eyes still at the brink of tears. “Wh-what?” He stuttered.

Tails had finally said it, and now he was crying heavily. “I’m sorry, Sonic, but I love you… I love you with all my heart, I only want to see you happy…”

“T-Tails…” Sonic couldn’t say anything.

The kitsune was quaking again, but this time it was from fear of rejection. “You probably think I’m disgusting, don’t you?...”

Sonic shook his head, a lump caught in his throat. “No, I don’t, Tails…”

“Hmph! Pathetic!” Robotnik cackled, his robot almost back at full power. “Little Tails loves Sonic! How grotesque! Luckily, Sonic, I’ll put you out of your shame and misery right now!”

The blue hedgehog stood up now, tears steaming down his cheeks in a passionate fury. “Eggman! I’ll never be ashamed of Tails! I don’t care how he thinks of me! He’s still, Tails…” Sonic looked down to his friend, a few of his tears staining the fox’s fur. “You have no right to say those things!”

“Sonic…” Tails continued to cry, his muscles still too weak to get up.

Sonic kneeled down beside him and held on tight to his hand. “It’s okay, Tails…” He said in a soothing whisper. “It’s okay…”

Robotnik laughed a mocking laugh at the two. “Pitiful! Sonic, you love Tails too don’t you? Ha-ha, what a beautiful couple you are!”

“Stop!” Sonic roared. “That’s enough talk out of you. I’ll rip the lungs right out of your throat, so I’ll never have to hear your disgusting voice!” In a display of affection for his best friend, Sonic leaped out from the platform, flying full force towards the Egg Viper. Curling himself into a ball, Sonic flew straight through the metal cockpit, throwing Eggman clear out of the machine.

With his precise aim, Sonic and the doctor landed on the other side of the platforms, the Egg Viper falling down into the pit with no controller. Eggman was sprawled against the platform, as Sonic stood over him, his eyes filled with a fiery rage. “You’ll never say another word again.” His words floated through the air as Eggman cowered against the ledge.

A few months later…

The incident was over. Sonic watched carefully over the injured Tails for a week, always there to help. Never once did he shun the fox for his love. As he began to get better, Sonic grew more and more attached to Tails for being even more courageous than him. If Sonic were in Tails’ shoes, he would never be able to show his feelings like that. Eventually…

“I love you too, Tails.”

Sonic fell in love as well. The two were in a state of bliss after, always together and always happy. At least… As long as they were alone. Sonic didn’t dare to tell the others his feeling, and neither did Tails. But, the two could not keep their love a secret. One day, Sonic and Tails invited all their friends to the kitsune’s house.

Sonic paced back and forth through the living room, unable to sit still. “Tails, do… Do you think they’ll hate us for this?”

Tails shook his head. “No, Sonic… They’re our friends.”

Feeling slightly more relieved by his love’s words, he sat down next to the teenage fox. “Of course… You really are braver than me, Tails…”

The fox smiled back, about to say something, but was stopped as the doorbell rang. Sonic froze. “Sonic, do you want to go through with it?” Tails took hold of his hand.

The sapphire hedgehog nodded. “I’ll do anything for you, Tails.”

Sonic could feel Tails’ hand shaking. Tails was just as scared as Sonic. Their hands unclasped, and Tails put on a fake smile, before making his way to the door. Tails yearned to feel the comforting warmth of the one he loved as he approached the door, but he knew he could not yet.

“Hello, Tails!” A pink hedgehog, Amy, waved happily at the fox as the door opened.

Tails smiled back. “Hello, Amy!” Behind her was the red echidna, Knuckles, and a white furred bat girl, Rouge. “Hi everyone!”

Rouge put a hand on her hip. “So, what’s the big deal, inviting all of us over here, Tails?”

The fox let out another fake smile, while Sonic sat back against the sofa hiding away his feelings. “I just thought we should all come together to have a little fun and maybe something to eat!” Tails looked out past the animals. “Hey, where’s Shadow and Cream?”

Amy laughed. “Shadow’s picking up Cream, he’ll be here any second, there was something he needed to do.”

Sonic was shaking. He wanted to stop, he really did. He was making a fool of Tails by acting so cowardly! “Well, what are you waiting for? Come on in!” Sonic forced out, slowly stopping his shakes.

The animals made their way in. The living room was pretty plain for a super genius’s home. A simple blue sofa sat against the wall with a coffee table placed in front of it. Across from the table lay a normal sized television. A few chairs were scattered around the coffee table, as there would be too many people to fit on one sofa.

Amy and Knuckles grabbed a soda happily and took a seat around the table, while Rouge decided to stand against the wall. Tails had asked her if she wanted something to drink, but she politely thanked him and said she wasn’t thirsty.

Sonic took a shuddering sigh. He was actually going to tell them. Tell them… He loved Tails. Did it really matter if they didn’t know? Maybe he shouldn’t…

Rouge, Amy, and Knuckles began to chat away about whatever they liked. As if reading his mind, Tails looked over to Sonic silently, his sapphire eyes shining with worry. ‘Whatever makes you happy, Sonic.’ Tails seemed to say.

The blue hedgehog laid back into the sofa again. He had to tell them. It really would make him happy after all… To be able to tell his friends about the one he loves. Sonic looked back over to Tails, wishing he could hold the fox in his arms to help him be stronger.

“Sonic?” Amy’s emerald eyes suddenly right in front of his as he awoke from his thoughts. “What’s with you? You haven’t spoken much.”

Soon, Knuckle’s violet eyes were looking into his as well. “Do you have something on your mind that you’d like to tell us?” He said in almost a nice tone, for him.

Feeling pressured, he shook his head. “Nope. Just bored.”

“You sure?” Knuckles asked. “You can tell us anything, Sonic.”

Sonic’s heart was pumping. He didn’t know what to do. He wanted to wait, but he had to do it sometime. “I do have…” Sonic said in a tiny whisper. He shook his head, slightly trembling. “I do have something I want to say.” He raised his voice slightly.

Rouge was looking at him too now. “Well, go on, Sonic, tell us.” He couldn’t! He couldn’t do this!

Tails walked up beside him.

With Tails… He could do anything…

Sonic stood up quickly, and held onto Tails’ hand, feeling his comforting warmth. “Tails and I are in love!” He shouted, looking down to the floor shortly after.

Tails tightened his grip around Sonic’s and looked away as well as he heard two gasps from the group. Both of their hearts pounded for hours it seemed.

“Took you guys long enough.” Knuckles smiled.

Sonic and Tails looked up.

“You knew?” Amy looked surprised.

The crimson echidna put his hands behind his head. “I’ve lived in nature all my life. I saw the way they looked at each other. It’s okay you two, I don’t mind what you do at all.”

Rouge had a smile on her face as well. “I’ll admit it’s surprising, but you guys can do whatever you want. I’m fine with it too.”

Amy giggled. “Love is love after all…” She sighed. “I know someone who’s going to be disappointed that you’re taken though Sonic…”

The blue hedgehog nervously smiled. She was obviously talking about herself. “Thanks you guys…” Sonic said silently, his heart relieved that his friends would still like him.

“Thanks a lot.” Tails whispered as well, cuddling up to his now known boyfriend. They sat down on the sofa together, while Tails kept his head on Sonic’s shoulder, feeling the sweet love from him.

Knuckles laughed. “Don’t worry, that’s what friends are for.”

Rouge nodded. “You’re both kinda cute together anyways.” She smirked.

Amy’s eyes looked distant. “Must be nice to be with the one you love…”

Tails nuzzled against Sonic’s soft fur. “It really is…” He smiled, his face beginning to heat up. “I love you, Sonic.” He said for everyone to hear.

Sonic returned the cuddle happily, his face turning slightly red. “I love you too, Tails.”

“Awww.” Knuckles and Rouge chimed in, chuckling afterwards.

Amy kept a bright smile on her face, but didn’t say anything. That certain someone she spoke of was going to be heartbroken later on…

“Now that that’s cleared up…” Knuckles growled. “I’m hungry, where’s that food you promised us?”

Sonic and Tails laughed. “Okay okay, Knucklehead, we’ll get you your food.” The blue hedgehog stood up with Tails, their hands still clasped tight, and they made their way to the kitchen.

Rouge looked up at the clock on the wall. “It’s been a while, where’s Shadow?”

Amy shrugged. “Maybe it’s good he’s late.”

“Phew, you’re right about that!” Sonic smirked, his old self coming back fast. “Who knows what that faker will do!”

The obnoxious hero and his boyfriend came back in with plates in their hands. “We got ourselves some chicken and chili dogs for lunch, what do you guys say about that?” Sonic placed down the plate of food in front of Knuckles. “Delicious, eh?”

“That depends, which one of you cooked?” The echidna gazed at the food with uncertainty.

“Tails.” Sonic growled.

Knuckles looked at it with despair. “I was looking for neither; both of you guys can’t cook.”

“Gee, thanks…” Tails placed the food down for Amy and Rouge. “I didn’t know there was a right way to use the microwave.” He said sarcastically.

“It’s all about timing.” Knuckles took a bite out of the chili dog, despite the fact that he was just complaining about it seconds before. “I would know, I live in nature all the time.”

Rouge gave a glare to him. “Last time you used a microwave, you burnt down my house! What the hell do you know about timing?”

“He knows when it’s time to eat, and time to sleep.” Amy mocked, giggling afterward.

Knuckles gave out a glare, and the rest laughed. Sonic and Tails sat next to each other, of course, and all of the friends had a good time, eating and talking away. It was nearly an hour later that Shadow made his appearance finally.

“You’re in love with who?!” Shadow’s jaw nearly dropped.


Sonic placed his chin on the fox’s head, feeling his stray hairs tickle him a bit. “Tails.” He said again, happily. “I’m in love with Tails.”

“That’s gross.” Shadow stated.
“Shadow!!” Amy yelled.

The ultimate life ignored her and kept his arms crossed. “So, Sonic, does this mean you’re gay or something?”
“Shadow!!”

Sonic frowned, irritated by the hedgehog. “It means I love Tails and that’s it. If you can’t accept it, then get lost!”

Shadow sighed. “Whatever.” He walked away, with his arms still crossed, giving him an awkward look. Amy followed the hedgehog out the door looking worried.

After the door closed, Shadow finally uncrossed his arms, and threw something out into the bushes, growling with rage. It was a red heart-shaped box, with the words, ‘I love you, Sonic’ engraved in it. Inside were the most delicious chocolates in the whole Station Square, he had searched the whole city for them.

“Shadow, it looks like you were too slow…” Amy sighed; she was the only one he had told his crush about to. She also became one of Shadow’s closest friends after the Ark incident.  “I’m sorry about that, but you really could of hurt Sonic and Tails’ feelings by what you said.”

Shadow looked away, a stubborn frown across his face. “Don’t see how.”

“Yes you do…”

The ultimate life groaned. “He was the only one I thought I could get to love me, and that stupid fox stole him!”

Amy took his hand to calm him down. “It’s okay Shadow!” She forced him to look at her. “I… I know someone who loves you…She’s always had feelings for you, ever since you opened up to her… She really really enjoys spending time with you too…”

“Who, Maria?” Shadow growled.

“No!” The pink hedgehog let out a shuddering sigh. “It’s… It’s me.”

“…Yeah, but…” He frowned stubbornly. “I don’t date girls. I thought the way I acted made that pretty clear.”

“Oh…” Amy looked away. “Okay, Shadow…”

The ebony hedgehog took her hand. “But, for you, I think I’ll let it slide.”

“Really?” Amy’s eyes lit up with happiness.

Shadow smirked. “Yeah, just don’t let my fan girls know I’m not gay anymore.” He went over to the bushes, and picked up the heart shaped box. “Hold on a second.” The hedgehog took out a random pen and crossed out the word ‘Sonic’ and put the name ‘Amy’ over it. “There you go, Amy, good as knew.”

The pink hedgehog gave him a fake smile. “Gee, how thoughtful of you to give me Sonic’s gift…”

“Yeah, I know, I pretty much rock.” Shadow smirked.

“So, Mister Sonic, you love… Mister Tails?” The innocent rabbit called Cream asked. Sonic nodded. “But, my mommy said that only girls and boys could love each other.”

Sonic and Tails scowled for a second, a vein pulsing through their head. Each cooled off a moment later, remembering she was still young. “Well, Cream…” Sonic started off gently. “Sometimes, you love someone so much; you don’t care what they are, girl or boy. Do you understand?”

The little rabbit looked up at the ceiling, thinking for a second. Cream looked back at them and nodded. “Yes!” She smiled brightly.

Tails smiled back. “Good, Cream! Now, do you want something to eat?”

“Which one of you cooked?”

Sonic and Tails nearly fell over with irritation. “Stop asking us that!”

Cream giggled. “Well, both of you aren’t very good cooks.”

Knuckles put his feet up on the table. “From the mouth of Cream too.”

While they yelled at their rude guests for insulting their cooking, Shadow and Amy walked back inside the house. “Hey, uh, Sonic or whatever…” The ultimate life sighed. “I’m sorry and… Crap like that.”

Sonic sighed, and waved it off. “That’s okay, I’m sure you’re hungry too right?”

“That all depends… which one of you cooked?”

“We used the damn microwave!!” Sonic and Tails screamed at the top of their lungs.

The day slowly turned to night, and the friends were having a great time. Shadow complained about the food again, so Sonic did the polite thing to do… and shoved the chili dog in his face. Shadow would have started another fight, but Amy was there to stop him.

Rouge sat next to Tails, an evil look in her eye. “So, Tails…” She started off with a smirk. “How many times have you kissed Sonic?”

The fox nearly jumped back, his face covered in red. “H-hey! Wh-why are you asking me that?”

“I just want to know…” She said innocently, but Rouge’s real intention was to make the fox squirm with awkwardness. It was one of her favorite things to do after all. “Come on, just give me a hint, is it in the double digits?”

Tails shook his head. “Um, no…”

“Ah, I see…” Rouge smiled again, her fangs showing devilishly. “Do you want to kiss him?”

Tails jumped up and down, feeling extremely uncomfortable. “I-I don’t know! Stop asking me questions!”  

Rouge wasn’t done. Knuckles was watching happily as well, he wanted to join in. “How about you, Sonic?” The echidna yelled over to him.

“How about what?” The hedgehog mumbled, trying to make his way past Amy to kill Shadow.

“Do you want to kiss Tails?” Knuckles chuckled.

Sonic froze and stopped struggling to get past Amy. “Uhh…” He looked at the fox with a nervous smile. “Tails you wanna go get that scary movie now?”

Tails nodded, overjoyed to change the subject. He ran off to another room to go get the video. “Okay, you two, cut it out.” Amy growled, pushing Sonic and Shadow away from each other. “We all know Shadow insults are just him hitting on you.”

Sonic shivered. “Ew.”


Shadow’s eyes were wide. “Excuse me? I’m not the gay one here!”

“Sure you’re not, Shadow…” Amy smirked, toying with her favorite hedgehog.

Tails came back with two videos in hand, each one unmarked. “Got em! The first one is really short, but I promise it’ll scare the pants off you.”

Shadow mumbled another gay joke, but Amy elbowed him quite hard to keep him quiet. “I doubt they’re that scary…” Knuckles said.

“It’s scary all right.” Sonic jumped up on the sofa, getting comfy. “Cream, you wanna hit the lights for me?” She nodded and flipped the lights off, leaving only the faint light of the television to cast shadows over the animals.

Tails giggled, and pushed in the video before hitting play. He jumped over, and sat next to Sonic happily, getting comfortable against him. The screen was nothing but black for a few moments, so Shadow and Amy sat down on the floor next to each other. “Okay, it’s starting…” Tails whispered.


Still nothing but black.


Knuckles stared at the screen. “Tails, this is-oh my god!!” He screamed at the sight. The rest all let out horrible shrieks of terror as well.


A picture of Eggman’s bald head was on the screen.


“It’s hideous!” Rouge moaned, covering her eyes as the others continued to let out death wails.

“Turn it off, I’m scared!” Cream cried.

“Everything I know is a lie!” Shadow shouted, holding onto Amy for dear life.

Sonic and Tails were nearly falling off the couch, holding onto their sides as they laughed so hard. Knuckles shot up and ejected the tape quickly. “Th-that was not funny!”
“
Oh…” Sonic wiped a tear off his eye. “Yes it is… Knuckles, put in the real tape will you?” He continued to chuckle slightly afterward.

Knuckles growled, and threw the tape at Sonic’s head. The hedgehog yelped and ducked, letting it harmlessly hit the couch. “Still not funny.” He growled, putting in the other video and pressing play.

Sonic sighed. “Ah, that was great… I’ll go make some pop corn if you guys want.” He offered nicely.

“How about we let Cream make it?” Shadow shot a glare to him. Rouge nodded, along with the others. Even Tails.

“You guys are jerks… Go on Cream, make it if you want.” Sonic sat back down with his arms crossed, sitting against Tails. “You really think I’m a bad cook?” He whispered.

Tails smiled nicely. “You’re job is to protect the world Sonic, not cook.”

“So you’re saying I suck at cooking.”

The fox grew nervous. “Would you be mad if I said yes?”

Sonic didn’t reply, and Cream hurried over to the kitchen to make the food with her chao Cheese close behind. They didn’t fast forward through the commercials so they could wait until Cream was done.

As the previews ended, the rabbit returned with a bowl full of yummy snacks. Amy took a hand full and stuffed some in her mouth. “Aw, Cream this is delicious!” Sonic growled. “Hey, prove me wrong, Sonic!” Tails giggled. “You too, Tails!” He stopped.

Rouge looked at the screen with interest. “So what movie is this anyway?”

Tails shrugged. “I dunno, it’s supposed to be scary. I think it was called like… ‘The Dark Octagon’ or something.”

‘The Dark Autumn Night’ came up on the screen.

“I was close!” Tails laughed nervously.

The movie began, and everyone became quiet. The only sound was of the movie, and the crunching of pop-corn in each of the animal’s mouths. “Oh dear, this sure is a dark autumn night!” The girl in the movie said. “I do hope nothing jumps out and kills us after I finish this sentence.”

“Oh my god, look out behind you, Mary!!!” Knuckles screamed as a man in a ski mask stealthy made his way to the girl. This of course caused everyone to jump, as Knuckles was being obnoxious again. But… he didn’t usually see movies, so it was pretty exciting.

Shadow sighed. “Oh please, this movie isn’t…” His jaw dropped as the girl’s head was cut off. “…Uh…” He gulped.

Cream squealed and held onto Cheese tightly.

Tails was nestled up to his Sonic. “Come on you guys, this is only the first five minutes of the movie, calm down.” The blue hedgehog groaned.

And so, the movie went on… Screams were heard in the movie and chainsaws were revved, while blood was spilt everywhere. No one took their eyes of the television, and each unconsciously grabbed a handful of pop-corn from time to time.

Of course, Tails was caught shivering a few times, but Sonic always gave the fox a tight hug to chase of his fears. “It’s okay, Tails…” Sonic whispered.

“And so ends this dark autumn night…” The main character in the movie stood over a man in a ski mask covered in blood and bruises. “That was pretty scary.” He sighed, and walked away.

The End.

Shadow kept his arms tight around Amy. “That wasn’t so scary. It was stupid.”

Rouge seemed to be the only one not afraid. “Didn’t any of you see the obvious flaws of this movie? Chain saws are loud when they’re revved, you can’t sneak up on someone five times without being noticed!”

Knuckles looked back at her. “It’s all about timing, Rouge; I would know I live in nature.” He pointed a thumb to himself and smiled like he knew what he was talking about.

“We all know you live in nature.” Amy growled.

“I didn’t like that movie!” Cream whined, her eyes glued shut.  

Sonic and Tails had their hands held tight, each nuzzled against each other in a happy state of bliss. “Looks like you two liked it.” Rouge smirked. Sonic nodded half-mindedly, his eyes seeing nothing ahead of him.

Amy let out a loud yawn. “So, what are you guys going to do now? Thinking about telling the world yet?”

Tails shivered. “I don’t know… I’d love to go on a date somewhere with Sonic…” He felt Sonic’s heartbeat slightly increase.

His friends would accept him… Sonic thought to himself. But, would the world? He and Tails would be insulted at all times in public. “We’ll do whatever we do…” Sonic replied, giving the fox a kiss on the cheek. “I love him… We’ll figure out something.”

“Ew.” Shadow stuck his tongue out at the sight.

Knuckles raised a finger, prepared to say something smart but Rouge cut him off. “Timing, we know. It’s all about timing.” She sighed and looked up at the clock. “Speaking of that, I gotta go. Let’s do this again sometime.” She waved. “So long!” The bat smirked and flew out the window without letting the others say another word.

Knuckles shook a fist at her. “I know your plan! You’re gonna try to get the Master Emerald! Whoever said you could take little Emmy from me?”

“You named it?” Cream tilted her head.

“Of course I named my little Emmy!” Knuckles shouted. “Get back here bat girl!” He cried jumping out the window, despite the fact he couldn’t exactly fly like her.

Shadow, Cream, and Amy stood at the door. “Well, I have to get Cream back…” The black hedgehog moaned.

“Promise not to cheat on me with any other boys!” Amy growled.

“No deal.” He said, taking Cream’s hand and speeding out the door.

Sighing, she looked back and gave a wave to the two. “Sorry, I have to go deal with Shadow… Bye you guys!” Amy took off out the door. “I’m not even kidding! No more boys!” Her screams echoed into the night.

Sonic stood up and stretched, his boyfriend looking up happily. “So what now, Sonic?” Tails asked.

He shrugged. “I dunno… I guess I could go…” Sonic frowned. “…You can… walk me out though.”

Tails giggled and took Sonic’s hand. “Sure thing, Sonic!” He pulled the hedgehog out of the house in a hurry, feeling the cold night air of his remote little hill, close to Angel Island.

“Where are you taking me?” Sonic yelped, as Tails continued to run ahead.

The fox didn’t answer until they made it at the edge of the cliff. “Sit down with me, Sonic.” He smiled.

“Sure, Tails.” He and the fox sat over the edge, their legs dangling in the air.

Tails sighed happily and placed his head against Sonic’s. “Can you hear the waves below? Isn’t it just beautiful out here?”

Sonic looked up and saw the full moon shining with its white light. The wind blew through his fur, and Tails kept him warm with his endless love. Below, Sonic could see the dark waves sparkling under the moon’s pallid glimmer. Each wave hit the cliff in a rhythmical pattern, like a soft lullaby sung by the most beautiful of voices. “Yeah… It is, Tails…” Sonic finally said.

The dirt silently crunched as Tails turned to face Sonic. “This is our special place…” He said, sapphire eyes glimmering like the ocean.

Gazing back, Sonic’s bright emerald eyes shone with love as well. “Tails, should we tell the world about us ever?”

Tails nodded and nuzzled his lover’s fur. “Whatever makes you happy, Sonic…” He sighed happily. “I love you, Sonic…”

The blue hedgehog put his arms around Tails gently embracing him again. “We’ll do whatever we do then…” He smiled. “I love you too, Tails…”
